On June 15, 2007, Plays-in-the-Park lost a dear old friend in the person of Charles Henry Roessler, Jr. who passed away at the age of 77. In addition to his many accomplishments, Charlie was a perennial leading man at PIP during the 1980’s as well as at Cranford Dramatic Club and the Westfield Community Players. Some of you may remember him from his star turns here as Emile DeBecque in South Pacific, Dr. Engel in The Student Prince, and Tony in The Most Happy Fella (pictured). Charlie was also a Korean War veteran and a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. His memory will live always on our stage. |
