PLAYS-IN-THE-PARK TO PROVIDE SERVICES
FOR HOLIDAY  PRODUCTION AT STATE THEATRE

Plays-in-the-Park brings the biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors to vibrant life in the delightful musical parable, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT. Now in its 14th season at the State Theatre on Livingston Avenue in New Brunswick, the show has become a family favorite during the holiday season. All tickets are $6.00 and seats are reserved. At select performances, Audio Description, Sign Language Interpretation and Open Captioning will be provided. The State Theater is accessible
to patrons with wheelchairs and offers accessible parking.

American Sign Language Interpretation will be provided by two Interpreters at the performance on Saturday, Dec. 27th at 2:00 pm. At this same performance, Open Captioning will be offered for patrons who are hearing impaired.

Audio Description for blind and visually impaired patrons will be offered at the performance on Sunday, December 28th at 2:00 pm. By using an earpiece attached to a hand-size transistor, patrons can listen to a live, concise description of the action onstage, in between dialogue and music. The transistor can be obtained (at no additional cost) in the lobby of the theater from the House Manager.

Prior to the Audio Described performance on Dec. 28, there will be a Sensory Seminar/ Touch Tour at 12:30 pm. Also geared for patrons who have visual impairments, participants will be given the opportunity to touch set pieces and handle key props & costumes featured in the show.
